Parents and safety

For parents, guardians and players. Who can join, how we keep the community safe, and the scams to watch out for.

This page is for parents and guardians, and for any player who wants to know how we keep Project Rhodesia safe. If something here doesn't answer your question, email us at [email protected].

What Project Rhodesia is

Project Rhodesia is a small game studio and community. Our games are on Roblox, and this website is where we post news, game information and, as it grows, our own forums, wiki and chat.

Our first game, Seek & Strike, is set during the 1970s Rhodesian Bush War. That is real and sensitive history. We have an educational interest in the period and we do not endorse racial supremacy, oppression, political violence or the policies of any historical government. Hate speech, extremist propaganda and recruitment are banned everywhere we operate. More in About and our Community Rules.

Who can join

  • Website accounts are for people aged 13 and older. We don't ask for a date of birth. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
  • If your child is under 18, please read our Terms of Use together. They can remove anything they posted at any time, and you or they can also email us and we will remove it for them.
  • Our games are on Roblox, so Roblox's own age rules and parental controls apply in them. Each game's Roblox page shows its content maturity label.

How we keep the website safe

  • Rules and staff. Our Community Rules apply everywhere on the website. Security Staff review reports, remove posts and can warn, mute or ban members. Serious cases, such as illegal content or threats, may be reported to the authorities.
  • Report button. Every post and profile has one. The member reported is never told who reported them.
  • New members start slowly. Their first post waits for staff approval, and they can post fewer topics, replies and links for their first few days.
  • Pictures are checked. Every uploaded picture is checked for nudity and sexual content on our own server before it shows, and a staff member looks at anything the checker isn't sure about. Hidden information, such as where a photo was taken, is removed.
  • Members choose who sees what. Each member decides who can see their bio, forum activity, friends and social links: everyone, signed-in members, friends only, or only them. They can block or ignore any other member (staff excepted).
  • Private help. Members can send staff a private support request about anything that worries them. Only they and staff can read it.

What we will never ask for

  • Your real name, address or any form of ID.
  • A Roblox password, security code or login cookie. Linking a Roblox account to the website is optional and happens on Roblox's own sign-in page. Anyone asking for these in our name is trying to steal the account.
  • Money. This website doesn't sell anything. Avatar items for our games are sold only through the Roblox catalog (see the Store).

Scams to watch out for

  • "Free Robux" offers, giveaways that ask you to sign in somewhere, or "generators". They're always scams.
  • Someone claiming to be our staff in a private message and asking for account details, codes or payment. Our staff will never do this.
  • Fake websites. Our only website is projectrhodesia.com. Our official community spaces are listed on the Community page. If you find a site or account pretending to be us, please tell us.

In our games

Our games run on Roblox, so Roblox's safety tools apply there: its chat filter, its Report Abuse button and its parental controls. Roblox explains them on its Parental Controls page and in its Safety Center. Our Community Rules apply in our games too.

Your child's information

Our Privacy Policy explains everything we store and for how long. Members can download a copy of everything their account holds, or delete their account, from their account settings at any time.

Contact us

For any concern about your child's account, something they saw, or another member, email [email protected]. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
