Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Project Rhodesia when you use this website and your account.

These terms apply when you use projectrhodesia.com, including your Project Rhodesia account. By creating an account, you agree to them, to our Community Rules and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why. If you don't agree, please don't create an account.

"We" and "us" means Project Rhodesia, the game studio and community that runs this website. "You" means anyone using it.

Who can have an account

  • You must be 13 or older. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it. If you're under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.
  • One person, one account. Don't create accounts to get around a ban or a limit.
  • Use your own email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
  • Don't pretend to be someone else, including our staff or Roblox.

Your content

Your profile picture, banner, bio, names, forum posts and anything else you put on the website stay yours. By posting them, you give Project Rhodesia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, permanent and irrevocable licence to use, copy, store, edit, adapt, translate, show and share them, in any media, to run, improve and promote the website and our games, and to let people who work with us do the same. For example, we might feature your screenshot or forum idea in a news post, a trailer or a game. We don't need to ask first or pay you, and we won't claim we made it.

This licence only covers what you share publicly on the website. It never covers private things: your email address, support requests, drafts you haven't posted, or anything else our Privacy Policy says stays private.

If you remove something or delete your account, we stop showing it on the website. Copies already used elsewhere (such as a published news post or game update), places where others quoted it, and backups kept as our Privacy Policy describes may remain.

If you're under 18, you can always ask us to remove something you posted, and we will take it off the website, including anywhere we featured it here (such as a news post), and won't use it in anything new. Nothing in this section takes away rights the law gives people under 18.

You can remove your content at any time: change or clear it in your settings, or delete your account. If you're under 18 and want something you posted removed, you can also email us and we will remove it (see the Privacy Policy for what that covers).

You must have the right to post what you post. Don't upload other people's pictures or work without their permission. If you think something on the website uses your work without permission, our Copyright and DMCA page explains how to tell us and what happens next, including how a member can respond if their post was removed by mistake. Members who repeatedly post other people's work lose their account.

Using the website

  • Follow the Community Rules everywhere on the website.
  • Don't try to break, overload or get around the website's security, read other people's accounts, or collect information about members with bots or scripts.
  • Don't use the website for anything illegal.

Moderation

Using the website is free and a privilege, not a right. We may remove content, or restrict, suspend or close any account, at our discretion, including for behaviour these terms and the Community Rules don't list if we believe it protects the community. A ban or a closed account doesn't entitle you to any compensation. Where we can, we tell you why, and you can ask for a decision to be reviewed by a different staff member. Serious cases, such as illegal content or threats, may be reported to the authorities.

In the forums this can mean: removing a post or topic, a warning, a mute (you can read and like but not post, for up to 30 days), or a ban (you can sign in and read, but not post, like, report, add friends or change your profile; your account stays up). Bans usually last up to 30 days; only the owner can ban permanently. While a ban lasts, the same person can't sign up again with the same email or link the same Roblox account. To appeal a warning, a mute or a ban, send a support request.

Roblox

Project Rhodesia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation. Linking your Roblox account is optional and uses Roblox's official sign-in; you can unlink it at any time. Our games and any items for them are on Roblox, so playing them and buying anything there is governed by Roblox's own terms. This website doesn't sell anything.

Our content

The website's design, logos, writing and pictures belong to Project Rhodesia or the people who made them. You're welcome to link to and share our pages, but please don't copy our logos or present our work as your own, except as our Press and fan content page allows.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in your settings. You have 14 days to change your mind; after that it's deleted for good, except the limited record described in our Privacy Policy. We may also close accounts, as described under Moderation, or if the website or a feature shuts down.

No guarantees

We do our best to keep this website working and safe, but it's provided "as is", free of charge. We can't promise it will always be available, error-free or free of harmful content posted by others, and features may change or end. Keep your own copy of anything important to you (your settings have a "Download my data" button).

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Project Rhodesia and its staff aren't responsible for indirect losses, lost data or lost profits from using the website, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to $50.

These limits don't apply to harm caused by our fraud, gross negligence or deliberate wrongdoing, to breaking the law, or to anything else California law doesn't allow an agreement to limit. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under laws that can't be changed by an agreement.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute about them goes to the state or federal courts in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there instead.

Settling disputes

  • Talk to us first. Before bringing any legal claim, email [email protected] with your name, your username, what went wrong and what you want. We both then try in good faith to sort it out for 60 days; most problems are settled quickly. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.
  • One year to bring a claim. Any claim about the website or these terms must be brought within one year after it arises, or it can't be brought at all, unless the law requires a longer time.
  • Individual claims only. To the extent the law allows, you and we may only bring claims against each other individually, not as a plaintiff or member of a class, group or representative action.
  • Small claims court is always open to either of us for a claim it can hear, after the 60 days above.
  • Costs you cause. If someone takes legal action against Project Rhodesia or its staff because of something you posted or did that breaks these terms or the Community Rules, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the website grows (for example, when forums or chat launch). We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, announce them in our news before they apply. If you keep using your account after a change applies, the new terms apply to you. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account before it applies.
